RIMpro is a set of simulation models for the biology of main pests and diseases in fruit. You can run these models on your PC. RIMpro provides information on the situation in the orchard that helps fruit growers and extension people to make the right dissensions in sustainable crop protection.

Our aim in the development of RIMpro is to put the existing pile of detailed scientific knowledge, and loads of monitoring data and practical experiences to practice. We do this by the development of sophisticated simulation models with a friendly intuitive interface.

As processes in nature are not straight forward, and mostly involve quite complicated interactions, we use techniques know as “dynamic population simulation” to mimic the effects of environmental factors on population development as realistic as possible.

Our models are developed based on scientific data, and are tested and improved according field tests,  experiences of users, and improved scientific knowledge. RIMpro users get the newest software update in February each year, and are informed on actual parameter settings and updates on the page RIMpro News on this site.

At the moment RIMpro contains models for apple scab, codling moth, and sooty blotch. We are working on models for other fruit pest and diseases as rosy apple aphid, apple sawfly, and the parasite of the wooly apple aphid Aphelinus mali.
